The foreign direct investments in Romania have doubled in the first half of the current year
The National Statistics Institute announces that foreign direct investments in Romania have doubled this year.
“The direct investments of persons / companies wich are not resident in Romania amounted to 3.138 billion euros (compared to 996 million euros in January-June 2020), of which equity investments (including estimated net reinvested profit) amounted to the net value of 2.543 billion euros, and the intragroup loans has registered the net value of 595 million euros “, it is said in the communiqué given by NSI.
The number of newly established foreign capital companies in Romania increased in the first six months of 2021 by 53.7%, compared to the same period in 2020, to 2,573 units, according to data centralized by the National Office of the Trade Register (ONRC).
The 2,573 newly established companies had a subscribed share capital in the total amount of 22.429 million dollars, almost six times higher than that of the companies registered in January-June 2020, of 3.841 million dollars.
In June, 473 companies with foreign participation in the share capital were registered. By areas, most registrations were recorded in wholesale and retail trade, car and motorcycle repairs (29.5% of the total), professional, administrative, scientific and technical activities (22.2%), as well as transport, storage and communications (13.32%).
At the end of June 2021, in Romania there were 233,549 companies with foreign participation in the share capital. The value of the subscribed capital was 64.232 billion dollars.
The largest number of companies with foreign participation is with investors from Italy.
